SECONDARY SUMMIT

As part of their dedication to advanced students, UT High School recently hosted the Secondary Summit institute featured at the Texas Association for Gifted and Talented (TAGT) annual conference in Houston, Texas from 11/29-12/1. Secondary educators and district/campus leaders were given diverse resources to meet the academic and social and emotional needs of gifted students. The institute highlighted the needs and challenges specific to secondary GT classrooms, with resolutions addressed through awareness and differentiation, and networking with stakeholders. The institute was attended by nearly 200 teachers and administrators from all parts of Texas.
