UTHS-TX ELA Teacher Lisa Williamson

ELA Teacher

Ms. Williamson is a veteran teacher entering her 14th year in education. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Texas and her M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, Advanced Teaching and Learning and certification in International Baccalaureate in 2020 from George Mason University. Her favorite aspect of teaching is building relationships with students and creating engaging content. She loves animals and is the proud owner of a 5 year-old Coonhound-Shepherd mix. She also loves being outdoors, reading both fiction and non-fiction, great 80’s and 90’s music (think “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears) and reads every plaque she can when visiting a museum. Her most recent visit was to the LBJ library here at UT where she learned about the Vietnam War. She is always interested in learning more and continually growing and hopes to instill this in the students she teaches through authentic connections and interesting texts. She truly believes that in the idea that everyone can become a lifelong learner regardless of academic abilities levels or prior education experiences.
