Your course fee covers everything you need from enrollment to completion.

Access to a dedicated, Texas Education Agency-certified instructor for your course. Instructors respond to Canvas inbox messages within 24-48 hours.

Canvas LMS Access

Full access to Canvas, the learning management platform used by universities worldwide. All course content and assessments are delivered here.

Proctored Testing

Secure online proctoring for final exams is included in your course fee. No additional proctoring service or fee required.

Official Grade Report

An official grade report is provided upon successful course completion for credit transfer to your home school. Grade reports are typically available within 5 business days.

Need More Time?

 

A one-time 30-day extension is available per course for $55 if you need additional time to complete.

  • Extensions must be requested within one calendar year from your original enrollment date
  • Can only be requested after the 140-day deadline expires
  • If you do not complete the course within the extension period, you will need to re-enroll
  • Course retakes are also available for a fee

When you select a course from the catalog, you will be directed to My School Bucks -- the UT payment platform -- to complete your purchase. Your 140-day window begins on the date of purchase.

Schools and districts may pay via purchase order. Contact us to arrange institutional billing.

Frequently Asked Questions

 
Are there any additional fees beyond the course fee?

The course fee covers your instructor, Canvas access, proctored testing, and your official grade report. Most courses are $260 per semester; Art courses are $275. The only additional cost is the optional 30-day extension if you need more time. Course retakes are also available for a fee.

Can my school district pay for my courses?

Yes. Many students have their courses funded by their home school district. We accept purchase orders and can work with your district's billing requirements. Contact us at edservices@uthighschool.org to arrange institutional billing.

What happens if I need more time to complete my course?

Are Independent Courses eligible for financial aid?

Independent Courses are not eligible for federal financial aid. However, many students receive funding through their school districts, homeschool co-ops, or family education allowances. Contact us to discuss your options.
