Teacher
Canetra Winn joined UT High School in 2025, bringing 28 years of experience in education and 19 years of teaching secondary English and Language Arts in grades 6–12. Ms. Winn has served students across Texas as a teacher, literacy specialist, and dyslexia case manager, supporting learners in both general education and special education settings.
Ms. Winn holds teaching certifications in English (7–12), English as a Second Language (EC–12), Dyslexia (EC–12), Reading Intervention (EC–12), and Special Education (EC–12). She earned an associate degree in General Studies from Austin Community College and completed dual bachelor’s degrees in English—with a Technical Writing certification—and Spanish from Texas State University, including a semester of study at Monterrey Tech University in Monterrey, Mexico.
Throughout her career, Ms. Winn has been committed to strengthening literacy, advocating for diverse learners, and fostering student confidence through effective communication and support. She looks forward to contributing to student success at UT High School.
