Executive Director
Dr. Debra Cantú joined UT High School as Executive Director in 2026, bringing thirty years of experience as a solution-oriented educator and leader in Texas public education and higher education. Her career spans roles as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, chief academic officer, and regional director, giving her a wide-ranging view of what students and campuses need to succeed.
Dr. Cantú is a first-generation college graduate who earned her Bachelor's degree, a Master's in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Policy and Planning, all from The University of Texas at Austin. She continues to serve UT Austin as an Associate Professor of Practice and Co-Director of the Texas Principal Leadership Academy, and has spent 15 years as an executive coach for school district and campus leaders across the state and nation. She is honored to bring that experience to UT High School and is committed to supporting the students, families, and educators of UT Austin's Public Schools.
