Principal, UTHS-Texas
Dr. Horton joined the UTHS family in 2022 with more than 25 years of experience in public education. He comes to UTHS well versed in public education and in working in an online arena. He has served as a general and special education teacher in both California and Texas, a bilingual instructional coordinator, and for more than 14 years as a campus administrator at both the middle school and high levels. He holds a doctorate in educational leadership, having taught in a variety of school settings from a residential treatment center to graduate school. He has also served as video lecturer and consultant to a company creating online learning programs, taught graduate students for an online course, and developed and lead a successfully implemented online night school program used at a local central Texas High School before being adopted at other schools in the same district. He is most excited for this opportunity to empower and help students succeed in this non-traditional learning environment.
