Spanish Learning Specialist
Luisa Alonso Rice joined the UTHS team in 2024 with 24 years of dynamic teaching experience, a seasoned professional poised to bring extensive expertise and passion for education to the role of Spanish Learning Specialist. She graduated cum laude from State University of New York with a B.S. in Business Administration, B.A. in Spanish and M.S. in Secondary Education. Her career has been marked by a commitment to fostering academic excellence and a deep-seated dedication to student success through innovative teaching methods and leadership. Throughout her tenure as an AP Spanish Language and Culture educator at Round Rock ISD, she developed and implemented rigorous curriculum that engaged and inspired students. In addition to her classroom experience, her background also includes significant contributions as a Spanish Federal Court Interpreter for the US District Court Northern District of New York in Syracuse and as a Regents Exam Item Writer and Exam Reviewer for the New York State Education Department. Her career is driven by a vision to inspire both students and colleagues. She is eager to bring this vision to the UTHS, where she hopes to contribute to the continued excellence of the Spanish language program.
