Dr. Robert Cape is Chase Professor of Classics at Austin College, Sherman, Texas. He has been involved with the AP Latin program for two decades, serving on the AP Latin Development Committee, as Reader and Table Leader at the Readings, and as Chief Reader of the AP Latin Exam. Professor Cape's areas of research include Roman oratory and social values (esp. in Cicero), women in antiquity, and Latin pedagogy. He is currently working on a book about the reception of the classical world in science fiction. He has received national awards for teaching and research from the American Philological Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and an Ovatio from the Classical Association of the Middle West and South. Dr. Cape has worked closely with Latin teachers at all levels for over thirty years.
