The Texas Education Agency selected UT High School to provide statewide teacher professional development during the 2018-19 academic year. The Blended Learning Professional Development opportunity aims to assist K-12 teachers in transforming their instruction by blending online resources into their traditional classroom instruction. As leaders in online learning, the UTHS district team coordinates with Texas public school district leaders to assist in the planning and implementation of professional development across their campus or district. Texas school districts receive full reimbursement by the TEA for the costs of UTHS's blended learning professional development, which is designed to support grade level teams and professional learning communitiies, so they can build teacher capacity to innovate curriculum and instruction. At UTHS, we truly believe our UT motto "what starts here changes the world," so we are committed to sharing our expertise in online learning with educators across the state. This professional development project brings additional funds into our district while supporting educators statewide to innovate their instruction. It's a "win-win!"
