Dear UT High School District Parents and Students,

Our UT High School District students have consistently demonstrated successful academic achievement over the years. We are very proud of our students for another strong performance during the 2020-21 academic year. Please view the recently posted 2020-21 State and Federal School Report Cards on our website at https://highschool.utexas.edu/accountability.

Some of our strengths for the 2020-21 academic year included the following:

  • Achieving an overall STAAR “At Approaches Grade level or Above” passing rate of 97% for all subjects, all students
  • Achieving a STAAR passing rate of 94% or higher in all student group categories
  • Achieving average SAT scores of 1217 which is higher than the state average of 1019
  • Achieving average ACT scores of 27.1 which is higher than the state average of 20.2

Some of the key areas we’re focusing on improving include the following:

  • Increasing student attendance for all STAAR assessments to improve our participation
  • Continuing to ensure equity across all student group categories for high performance and participation
  • Continuing to ensure we have a low dropout rate which is currently 0.8% compared to the state average of 1.6%
  • Continuing to expand opportunities for students to enroll in dual credit and AP courses

Please note that during the 2020-21 academic year, Texas school districts did not receive accountability ratings due to the declared State of Disaster resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
