Leigh Northcutt-Benson joined the UTHS family in 2025 with over 20 years of public education experience. She is an Austin native and holds bachelor’s degrees in Geography and History, as well as a Master’s in Educational Administration that she received from The University of Texas Principalship Program. Ms. Northcutt-Benson has taught and served as an administrator in AISD public schools, focusing on serving Title I campuses as well as supporting advanced academics through her work as a Magnet Director. She has served both Middle School and High School students. Her specialty area is Social Studies and bringing advanced academics to underserved populations. Ms. Northcutt-Benson has been honored to serve as AISD’s Teacher of the Year and believes strongly in servant leadership, infusing the arts into social studies curriculum, and strong civic education and engagement.
