Maria J. Thomas has a B.A. from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Ms. Thomas has 34 years of classroom experience teaching 9-12 Spanish, including Spanish I & II at Harlandale High School and Spanish I- V (including AP®) at John Marshall High School in Northside Independent School District. She was Spanish Honor Society Sponsor for over 20 years. Additionally, Ms. Thomas has written curriculum for Spanish I-V (including AP®), mentored other teachers, and presented at local and state Conferences (NISD, TSTA).  She has served as a TOPT grader for State of Texas, at the University Level and an assessment writer for Santillana USA Publishing Co. (Secondary Level). Mrs. Thomas was nominated for several years, by her students, to the list of Who’s Who of American High School Teachers. During the past twenty years, she has organized and facilitated many trips to Europe, which includes countries, such as: Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, and England, with her students to enhance their cultural experiences. Ms. Thomas has taught for UT High School since 2005 and currently teaches Spanish I-III.
