Math Learning Specialist
Ryan Smith joined UT High School in 2015 as the Mathematics Learning Specialist. As a certified teacher in both Texas and Illinois, Mr. Smith taught math and physics to high school students at KIPP: Austin Public Schools and at the Noble Network of Charter Schools in Chicago for eight years. He has a BS in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Teaching Secondary Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mr. Smith also has seven years of experience as a math team coach and two years of experience writing and revising standards-based assessments for NNCS in Chicago. When not at work, he can be found applying his math skills in the kitchen, in making music, or in activities such as biking and softball.
