Each fall, the PSAT is given to sophomores and juniors. Taking the PSAT can help students see his or her progress towards college and career readiness. This also provides an opportunity to preview and practice for the SAT.

The PSAT/NMSQT is the official entry into the National Merit® Scholarship Program. In addition, upon taking the PSAT/NMSQT, there is the option to participate in the College Board's Student Search Service®, which makes the student's name and information available to colleges and scholarship programs looking for similar students. This is an optional, free service.

Online registration is NOT available to students or parents. There are two fall testing dates. Please check with your local high school to see which dates are available at the school nearest to you. Use the CEEB number, 440344, to make sure UTHS receives your results.

Students can also get free, personalized SAT study plan. With your permission, Khan Academy will use your PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 results to create a unique study plan based on your performance.
